The 2nd pic is the Hurst Competition Plus shifter 2298 mounting plate and rods installed.
Notice that the Hurst Competition Plus shifter mechanism sits more upright while the factory shifter leans forward.
This is due to the difference in the 2298 mounting plate when compared to the stock #195 0090 mounting plate.
