as some of you know, i got kids and a wife

now, it just so happens to be that in the mornings, i prepare tea for the kids and coffee for the wife
and i like using these "to go" cups

s-l1600.jpg

16 oz cups, with lids, light plastic so they are dishwasher and microwave safe

"but 'mirage" you might say, "those look like throw away cups you get at the big buck coffee shacks"

why yes, they do, which is one of the reasons the tend to disappear, because they easily get left behind or accidentally get thrown out (and for some some reason, the lids the to disappear altogether)

so, my set of 8 or so had dwindled to 4 or 5
half of those being in the dishwasher, half of em left in one car or another and the other half, i dont know, beneath the couch maybe?
at any rate, it was time to replenish them

now, i had a pretty good idea where i had bought these in the first place, but i figured, who knows, maybe i can buy them online for cheaper

here is the best deal i could find

2 Tumbler Coffee Mugs Cups Rise with The Tide Travel To go 639277580160 | eBay

2 for $8.00 (but with free shipping)

oh, see the bar code on the bottom?

says its imported by greenbrier, and of course as we all know (or a quick duck duck go search tell us) that means dollar tree

so lets see what these puppies run for at the tree

Bulk Reusable Plastic Coffee Cups with Lids, 2-ct. Packs | Dollar Tree

$1.00 for a 2 pack

AND free in store pick up, which means, no waiting

so, back on topic, the CHEAPEST i've found these online was still 8 times what they cost in real life

that is one heck of a mark up

Never did let my kids eat or drink in any of our cars.

i would be all about that and to be honest, i really dislike eating in the car (even when im not driving)

we have very few rules concerning eating in the car, but one of em is "no syrup with your pancakes"
yeah, i dont think i need to explain where that one came from

as for drinking in the car, that one i never minded
for a while i would drive 50 miles to work, and the car was a great place to have my morning coffee

But then if you spill something it's your fault and you clean it up. Kids new better then to have food or chocolate bars etc in the cars. I'm a clean freak with the cars.

so you're telling me you missed out on one of the greatest games ever played...."what is that smell? car edition"

I have one travel mug, a friend gave it to me 8 years ago or so. Made of stainless. It has had enough coffee drunk thru it, it has that good coffee layer inside. Yes it gets rinsed but it has never seen the dishwasher! If I were to lose it, I would be a crumbled old man! Wait!!! I am a crumbled old man!!!

Yeah, it pays to shop around.......

no kidding

here's what i did today...i bought some gutters
got a deal on them, but the hangers they came with dont work for the pitch of my roof
there is no way im gonna be able to modify them to work and look good, so im in the market for new ones

i looked them up online (lowes, my go to place) wants @2.39 a piece...and i probably need about 50

so i looked on ebay, found a bag of 50 for $40.99

nice, now add some end caps, they run about 8 bucks a pair on ebay

lowes?
$1.78 a piece

go figure

^^^^^Lowe's sucks! But that is just my opinion!

well, living in the metropolis that i do, it is either lowes or menards, and menards are mask nazis and will never get a dime from me again

but do tell, why dont you like lowes?

Glad to hear they are. They'd get my business in a flash.

Never did let my kids eat or drink in any of our cars.
I never did until the little 6 year old grandaughter came to live with us full time, that little **** has me wrapped around her little fingers, she always make me stop for drinks and snacks.
No big deal she is only in my truck once a week at most, a few crumbs to clean up is no big deal.

They have a habit of wrapping people don't they and is great. Still no snacks in my car LOL

We like Lowes we have here in Canada. Used to live at Home Depot but we find Lowes so much better. Great place to shop
I can buy my lumber from the mill/ or real lumber yards. I an buy hardware from real hardware stores what few are left. I buy a few specialty screws and Rustolum there. Hardly anything else. Even their garden plants are mislabeled but that is the error of the nursery. But this is Tx. not Canada!

It also depends on the employees as well. Some don't give a rats as long as their paycheque is there.
