Looks like the car is right and the mix is wrong. They need to look up the code on a 1969 chart. If they use another year of T3 it could be the wrong color.

want examples? Take Y3. DY3 is a cream color, and GY3 is curious yellow and bright color like sublime green. They are both Y3. The first letter is the year it came out and it means a lot. D is1968 and G is 1971

next is B5. There is EB5 for 1969, and GB5 for 1971 and they are different color mixes. They are close but not the same.

I tried explaining this to the vey experienced paint person at the paint store and it didn’t mean anything to her, until I showed her the Y3 and she looked at the formulas. She can tell what the color will look like from the formula.

Ok so EE on a 68 Valaint says military blue ? Where should I look otherwise,

The first letter Of the paint code is the year the color started. It’s the same letter on engine blocks. And the same letter at the top of a broadcast sheet.
E =1969. Gems like EV2 and EL5 started then. But they didn’t use the E in the code on the tags and sheets in 1969
F= 1970 and FC7, FM3, FJ5, FJ6 Are some popular codes some may be familiar with

use my Y3 example. Go get some paint and see what color you wind up with. And boring cream color or a bright yellow/green.

T3 often looks wrong on the factory chart. It can also look off on computer monitors, post 4 above is a good example. Car in my avatar on the left is wearing it's original paint.

If that's the correct standard then why is EB5 or EB7 on the fender tag of 1970 cars and not FB5 or FB7? When it comes to Mopars nothing is consistent except inconsistency.

Here's another quote from a past thread about these very questions in 2011 about HT8.

All that I can tell you is that "H" = 1972 ( e.g. , "E"=1969 , "F"=1970 , "G" = 1971 , ad seq. ) .

However , just because of its alpha-prefix being an "H" , doesn't mean that's the year of the car . Witness the paint code "TB3" : "T"=1962 ; however , this code wasn't applied to the fender tag until 1972 , when it became a regular , non-special order colour ( btw , TB3 = Petty Blue ; but it was coded "special order" ( 99 or 999 ) until '72 .

After all of that ...

Your car's original colour was , iirc , something like "Sable Bronze Metallic" . And , of course , as usual , Dodge , Plymouth and Chrysler all used different names for the same colour :tard:

Im trying to tel you why. So listen up.

The first letter is when the color started. EB5 started in 1969. The same code is used in 1970 because they used the same color. Now clear your mind and read my prior posts again.
