What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

I cringe when I see those. And the cars with 3 foot of rubber fuel line. It's a fire waiting to happen.

That's what I've used for 17 years. Replaced three times, the way my cars are, I need to see the fuel (crappy pump that won't die, and similar). I keep the filter away from the heat as much as possible, usually over the frame rail. I haven't checked under hood temperatures, but I doubt they are in the 350° range that the plastic melts at. When they get old and a little dirty, I replace them.

Not the header farm like last year when I painted my headers for the 408, but this time painting the exhaust manifolds for the 340 to go back in the 71 Demon. 1 light coat on, 1 to go!

Are you going to paint the fuel pump too? :poke:
The one you hijacked? Already put it back in the car...in the 72 Demon, that is. Just waiting for these 3+ days of rain to pass to getting it back out on the street a bit to figure some things out and then hopefully back to the track one more time this year.

Yeah that pump. What else you ordering this month? I have a 72 Dart. So the parts will probably fit. :poke:

What track do you go to? I used to go to Milan but we lost another one.

This year was Lapeer, Mid-Michigan, and National Trails (Mopar Nats). Your track US-131 is a tad too far but I'd love to get out there and see that car of yours run!

US-131 is my track too

(And by "my track" I mean I went to a test and tune there once, half a decade ago)

I was out to Lapeer in 19 and really didn't like the concrete walled burn out box and really the 6 foot walls were a bit much. Then I got stuck out parking in the sand area as there was no parking. But it's the closest one anymore so I may be out there more. Ya I did have fun! My purple dart is apart so I was running my 69 red 340 cuda. I haven't been out any in the last 2 years hope it's better next year. And I'm getting old lol so it's time to let some stuff go as I haven't gotten to them in the last 20 years and I sure as hell ain't got 20 left.

My Gear Vendors Overdrive unit showed up today. .....can't do anything with it right now. ....still waiting on a ton of other parts.....

Count the layers up from bare metal. Red primer, green primer, gold color, gray primer, yellow color. :BangHead: Hard to keep my compressor cool through all those layers. One panel at a time.
