Oh yeah, many years ago, it works. I think I added three shims to mine. Do a search here, there is a lot of talk about it. I tried to find the old posts, no luck, others will chime in.

Yes it’s been around here for a while. I went from .055 shim to .098 on my Dart with little benefit. I need to add more.
 
I have it on both my 66 cuda and 66 valiant. I can't remember how many cooper washers I used to space out the relief valve. I remember on the Saginaw pump they are easy to install so you can add and subtract washers until you get the feel desired.
I liked the results along with adding a strut brace from the front of the steering box to the frame to limit box movement, big difference.
 
It made a little difference on mine, but not a lot. I bought the kit on Amazon.
