Car shows- Something does not make sense

-
With the thousands of dollars we have invested in our cars, $10 or $20 to get to a show and spend the day with like-minded car people is a bargain! Our season is so short (May through October) and weather dependent, that I try to hit every show I can - wish there were more! The fees are just part of the annual car budget.

I am happy to pay my ten dollar fee because I get thousands of dollars worth of knowledge and information from all of the number gurus and their spawn that freely expound their intellect! It is just amazing how much I don’t know and how incorrect Chrysler built these cars!

In 30 odd years in the hobby I have never entered one of my old Mopars in a show. Couple time hauled one there with my parts for the swap, just to give them another car as they asked me to.
I don't mind paying the fee to help their cause. I just have no interest in competing or listening to comments.
I do enjoy seeing people's work, and meeting some people that are down to earth low ego type.

Unfortunately, I always miss these guys. My son's fender tag has had a few of them go ape about how rare it is, blah blah blah. My wife has heard it several times, but they are never there when I am around...Yes, it's a Dart convertible with a 440 and four speed along with a Barracuda dash and Charger console clock...Factory had a bunch of neat parts, we just put them all together...

Also while I'm bitching, new cars should have there own spot rather than taking spaces from the classics. I can go to a showroom if I want to see new cars. The venue has to send them to a back row, it's usually listed as a classic cruise night.

I had a picture of this but can not find it. A few years back, I went to a classic car show with my 1971 Duster. In the Mopar lane I was the only car older than 2016. There were about a dozen "skittle" colored cars in line. Not one older than 2016.
I parked down about 6 empty spaces from them, all alone. I got more lookers at my car than I have ever had before or since. Everyone just walked past the new cars
