Short bad afternoon at the lake

The "boat fleet" has sat since early July--when the early hot wx and the fire smoke came along. Today I took the 15' Voyager down to the lake and here's how THAT went LOLOL

This particular ramp has no dock. I have "usually" been able to launch it and stay dry, but not recover it. I tie the bow line onto the rear of the trailer get it "mostly in," release the bow and let'er go in. Drifts out, I idle out slowly and the bow line nudges it back

I look in the mirror and it's a little further out than I expected.........the rotten bow line broke. It IS nylon. Anyhow I waded out there not quite knee deep and grabbed the line and hauled er in.

Pushed it off, got the "kicker" going and got safely away from the shore. The 40hp DID NOT want to run. The float seems to be stuck shut

Loaded it onto the trailer, which requires more wading.........and pulled out the carb main jet plug at the bottom. Well it's got fuel. So I squeezed the primer to flush it a bit, and NOW IT IS FLOODING and will not CLOSE.

Pulled 'er home and stopped beside the neighbor going the other way. He's kind o' ???? and says "I smell brakes"

Now I almost NEVER use the nearly useless parking brake on the Dakota but I decided to at the ramp and drove about 5 mi home with the brake dragging.

I'm gonna have some ice tea and watch TV

LOLOLOL
Oh well. This day too shall pass. lol
