I have never been a fan of bonding patches. Usually you will see a perfect line of where the filler slightly separates from the adhesive. They have gotten better with time but still not a fan. You can bond in a plug weld area but I don't in a solid weld area like a sectioning point. I have used them both and they work equally well. The best part is they are corrosion resistant. You can apply with an acid brush and wher ever you cover will not rust like a welded area.
