4SPD TRANY INSTALL

Not sure if this will help or not, but I fought the 4-speed on my truck multiple times until I got the angle just right between the trans and engine. I got some 4" bolts, cut the heads off and chamfered the remaining edges and slotted the tops with a hacksaw. Then we threaded them into the mounting holes so they served as guide rods. Once the trans was lined up with them I was able to wiggle and fiddle till it fully seated to the engine. Then I removed the guide bolts one at a time with a screwdriver and swapped in the regular mounting bolts.
