Got a new well new to me Dart. 340ci bored and stroked to 416ci 340-exhaust manifolds and factory intake. Thinking of bolting up my LA Performer RPM AirGap on and replacing the Edelbrock for a Holley 750. Any thoughts and opinions? Current configuration dyno at 380hp 490hp. Any guesses on if I swap the intake or any opinions on what I should do??

also anyone point me to a link for some affordable 5 on 4 15 Cragar SS for my rear the 14” seem so tiny

Very cool dart! I got my 340 swinger in 1978 and I still enjoy it very much.a lot of it depends on what you're trying to accomplish with your change, whats your engine specifications,Heads, , rear end ratio, transmission type, 416 are a very versatile build, and induction choices are many. Six pack, m1, air gap, LD 340 and many more they all would be fun and cool. and work very well.

Some may (and probably will) argue the point, but if you're going to keep the factory 340 exhaust manifolds, you probably won't see much or any difference going to the Air Gap. The factory intake & exhaust are an exceptionally well balanced system when used together. To use the Air Gap without a corresponding increase in exhaust efficiency probably won't get much for net gain. Assuming you're running factory J heads, I'd be considering a set of Eddy or TF heads to take advantage of those 416 cubic inches. Get the Js worked on as a bare minimum- they can be made to flow really well, but for what that will cost you're in the ballpark of a set of aluminum heads. Once your breathing capability is increased, then look at installing the AG and headers.
As far as the Holley 750, are we talking vacuum secondaries or a double pumper? And which Eddy carb are you currently running?
Since the car is new to you, I'd personally run it as is for a while before tearing into it, just to see a little more clearly what you like and don't like about it, and then make plans for some changes to address them.
Your HP ratings, I assume, are 490 crank HP and 380 rwhp? That seems like a lot of driveline loss...

I already have the airgap so kinda want to work with that. 8 3/4 3.23. 727 stock 340 head to my knowledge

How does your current setup run? What are you hoping to accomplish by your changes? As much as I love the factory manifolds a nice set of headers would unleash about as much improvement as anything at this point. IMO.

380 crank hp
490 crank tq

I have to say I agree and appreciate the advice. Sometimes you need to hear it from someone else. May just leave it be awhile until I’m ready to mess with heads and headers. Am curious “tf heads” ??

Yeah I agree. I already have the intake and was kinda day dreaming. I agree getting more air in won’t help unless you can get it out. Current setup runs good.

I probably would go with the air gap right away just to take a few lbs. off the nose, but a good set of headers with a free flowing exhaust system and free flowing air filter would be my first mod.

The stock unsilenced air cleaner set up was pretty efficient, too, and worth big bucks these days.

There were some Cragars on here for sale. I got mine at Summit Racing

I love the car and the colors, I too would be saving up for some headers at least.
Then the next step for me would be some good heads like Trick Flow and install your intake then while you have it apart.
The 750 carb would go well with the top end mods.
If you go to 15'' wheels on the back with say a 255-60-15, then the 3:23 gears should be changed to at least a 3:55, but a 4:10 would be my choice if you are changing the gears anyway.
It all depends on how far you want to go, how much money you have, and what you expect out of the car.
What you have here is the ''bones'' to take the car to the next level.........

Those wheels look more like the old Ansen Sprints, but I'm old and my eyes aren't what they used to be.
