Hello,

How do you get the side trim pieces (below the rear glass) off of a Barracuda?

I have removed the center, but I can't reach the nuts through the little holes in the trunk. Is there a special tool or trick to this?

I have plastic pieces inside the cargo area held in by plastic rivets, I've been told these plastic pieces are incredibly fragile and not to break them.

Any techniques or advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!
Patrick

remove the 3/8 nuts through the 3 holes. I dont think you need to take the plastic panels off. Your attachment didnt work.
<< Sorry, they are behind those fragile panels>>> There is a screw under the weatherstrip that everyone misses I think.....

Do you need a specially-shaped wrench to do that? I have a few different sets and none of them come anywhere near reaching the nuts

No, just a 3/8 and a socket on a 3-6" extension? They are those flimsy trip nuts. That panels needs to come off.

Rats, I was hoping I could get them off another way. Thanks for the confirmation

It can be done...the screw tab under the window seal is what people forget about and they end up ripping them out and breaking that part. pull it back and look for it. IIRC it can be removed with seal in place but its a delicate process. Sort of a channel shape.

Based on your screenshot, are you saying I have to pop these off?

yes...look under the full length of the rear gasket on top for a screw or 2 for those plastic trims, there may be one behind that metal trim above the filler too, thats easy to remove, they are all screwed in place.
