Dual exhaust .... What are you running

-
I would check the specs for the mid 60's 273 "D" Darts in trans Am racing. IIRC, they had a big single exhaust, and a resonator, but no muffler. Just my 2 cents.
The Doug's headers on the D/Darts are slightly different then today's headers. They had 1 3/4" primaries with 3" collectors. Today's are 1 5/8" with 2 1/2" collectors. They had a special built 2 1/2" y-pipe that mounted to the header collector. It necked down to 2 1/4" before the muffler. I believe they had both a muffler and resonator since they ran in D/Stock.

What I would do since this is something you plan to upgrade later would be to bite the bullet and just run a full 3" system and be done with it. That way, you have enough exhaust for "whatever's" down the road.
