ARE YOU SERIOUS DUDE!? Put the crack pipe down!!

As I understand it, $3600 is not out of line for 69 440 a-body manifolds. It's way out of line for the much more common 383 manifolds. I don't know enough about either to determine which those are. I suspect 383. If they were 440s the add should have made that clear .
I agree. They are worth whatever someone pays, either way.

Dang I just got to shoot my mouth off, if I had a big block A body which I don’t, it would have headers cause you know how I would drive it. It was made to be driven that way. Leave them there museum pieces to those museum guys with museum kind of money and endless time for man cave maintenance. Hope I didn’t offended anyone.

If you had a numbers M code and you wanted original date code 69 Manifolds....what would they be worth? What's a restored M code worth?

I traded a pile of parts to get my M-code manifolds and a Glen Ray 065 radiator when I got out of 70-72 Swingers and I have never had an ounce of regret. My GTS is no trailer queen but it’s racing days are behind it.

When I got my Dart and had the first thought of putting a 440 in it, I looked into these manifolds. Right away I knew I'd be wasting my money as my car is a 270 that will be a what if car when I get around to doing any work to it. I got some used tti headers and I'm fine with that. I don't have the pockets for an M code clone, and I'd hate to use some rare parts for a car that never came with them.

Exactly! But how many a13s are out there that need manifolds for a restoration? Five? Two? (And those $3600 ones arent them!)
Correct. I was making a comparison of the M code, which is 69 of course.

Regardless of worth, the 67 castings, which those are, were the worst flowing of all three years produced. The 69 was the best. That said, if you need um, you need um.
It takes a real moron to spend 4 grand on exhaust manifolds for an A-body. Maybe for a 70 Hemi Cuda, maybe.

Big kids toys, big kid prices.

This A body stuff has very few "holy grail, mega rare parts" there's other brands (Benz) around the world that makes our Stuff look poor and beginner level.

You want to roll with the big kids, it's going to cost. If not, I hear building a Honda accord can be pretty cheap.

This looks to be an average price. I saw one a few years ago sell for $100K.

Me? A flipper? You seriously dont know me, LOL. Every "classic" i own , i have had for a minimum of fifteen years. My family has had my 55 chevy since.....54, they bought it new.
My b-bodies and my 33 imperials ive had since the eighties.

If there were no flippers there be no parts and most of the cars would be scrapped.
What do you think a junk yard is
a junkyard is a business that couldn't afford to gouge people ridiculous prices or they wouldn't be in business. Hell I've had them just give me stuff before. Not try to leverage every penny out of a set of somewhat rare manifolds... At that rate it would cost about $200,000 to build a nice hot rod but whatever. Go for it.

I was just generalizing the average flipper, not someone trying to get rich off one part.

I had always heard that the 67 383 driver's side exhaust manifold was SO restrictive that a 68 340 Barracuda could beat it every time.

Well they can ask whatever they want...the real 'crackheads' are the ones that pay that much..
Maybe not. Let's say you have spent 5 years and $75-80K (or more) restoring a 67 383 Barracuda, and the last part you needed for a beautiful concours restoration was those manifolds at $3600. You would probably buy them.

I can tell you've never dealt with Desert Valley Auto Parts!

thats the one

who me?

i just thought it was funny how Bob mentioned that, because that is exactly how bigboy used to operate

and i will also point out that i made it clear he claims to have mended his ways...but if that is true or not remains to be seen

know what really cracks me up?
that you would point out my, shall we say, faux pass, while in the same post displaying your signature which seems to be in agreement with my post

dam guy, was just stating they would be worthless to me , being performance minded , would buy TTI`s in a heart beat first !
