I bought a brand new 1980 Chevy Monza that looked very much like this:

It was dark green, tan interior, Buick 231 V-6, TH350, A/C, PS, PB. I tinkered with the V-6 (headers, 4-bbl) but it still hummed like a V-6.

A friend was rear-ended in his Monza (which was totaled) and offered it up to me for cheap. A 305 V-8 (rebuilt with a .030 overbore), Hooker headers, Holley 600 cfm, converted the interior from tan to black, swapped the "Spyder" rectangular nose, swapped the tilt steering column, painted it '75 Corvette yellow (lacquer) paint. I did everything but the machine work on the engine. I added a fiberglass cowl induction hood, Cragar SST wheels (14" rear and 13" up front). I learned a lot (with a ton of supervision from my stepdad (this was our last project before he passed)). I sold it after my daughter was born (1995ish) thinking I was done with the car hobby. I wasn't done, and I found my Dart GT in 2003.

New flagpole is in. Salute. Really like it. It’s a telescoping pole. With a solar light. The flag mounts swivel all they way around the pole. Should keep it from wrapping the flag.
