67 GTS 4-Speed: Daily Summer Driver

Last week was kind of busy so I did not get to post, but I was able to get a couple things completed on the GTS. I got the dome line in and connected. I found a trunk light harness online so I installed that as well. Unfortunately the spring in that switch is no more. I dont know if there is a way to repair that so I will have to find a new switch. I also started the process of creating the harness for the console tach. I found out that a lot of the connectors are the Packard 56 style so I got a couple of them to make this thing up. I also had to rob some fuse blocks for the fuse holders so I could put a fuse in the accessories section of the fuse block to run this tach. So I got the wires laid out and this past weekend I was able to install those packard 56 connectors. Now I just need to wrap the harness and install it and the console can go in!!

I also found out it is not to hard to install the ignition light if you can find a map light harness. Well I found a repro one of those, found a map light switch online, and the ignition light. Getting the time delay is easy but finding that odd three prong connector is not. Well a friend has one off of his junk harness so I will be able to use that one! just did this to my 68 convertible and it works great! However I will have to drill into the chrome bezel to provide a path for the light to illuminate the ignition at night.

I was able to get the dash harness modified for the 4 speed reverse switch on the trans. But, while I was looking for the ignition light components I saw that they have reproduced the reverse dash light. Seeing that I like things that light up (even though this light didnt come out until 68) I figured I would install it! So I just need to get the dash ready for that!

So the list dwindles too:

Get the seat(s) in, finish the electricals on the dash, put the coolant back in, bleed the brakes, add steering fluid in, bolt in the shifter handle, get the tires installed and this thing would be ready for some shake down cruises!
