People getting defensive at car shows!

My buddy has a real clean repainted new interior 1977 Camaro. He wanted to show it. I told him that I dislike it when people show their cars with the hood up. If I want to see the engine I'll ask to see it. Maybe its because I'm a bodyman. Anyway first time out, he got a trophy in his class and think having the hood closed helped him with that.
I like to see the cars that ain't in a show with the hood down too but I'm not gonna complain if it's open. Used to laugh whenever I had my 70 almost all original Challenger at a parking lot or a 'in the park' show and someone would say 'nice Camaro'. I'd just laugh and tell them to count the lettering or learn what a Camaro looks like. One guy turned back and said kinda loudly 'I know what a Camaro looks like' and he got some flack from others sitting about me lol.
