I used to build WW2-Vietnam era planes when i was young. just put them together, no airbrush paint, just Testors bottles and a little brush. Had the big Monogram B-17G and F-4 Phantom 2 hanging in my room. I still have a half built F-106 in the box. Id like to do a muscle car again, too darn expensive now, $24 a kit?

I went into Hobby Lobby one day and hit the jackpot, all kits were 75% off, so I was getting car kits for 7.50, yep i'm the guy that comes in and buys all the stuff on sale ! :)
Ollies has some good stuff cheap, but ya got to time it just right, large trucks and trailers for 20 bucks, car kits for 9.99, yep i hoard them all.

I used to build u-control model airplanes and dogfight them. These where four foot wingspan balsa ribs with silk or a type of heat shrink plastic covering. Powered by a .45 cu in engine that would eat your fingers if you weren't careful. Sixty foot wire leads and you and the opponent would stand back to back in the center of the circle until the fighting commenced. Could do multiple loops, inverted loops and fly upside down. Trick was getting them both in the air and at the same approximate speed. What a blast. You could wreck them and rebuild them and be back in the air the next day.

Damn I'm gonna have to start looking at Hobby Lobby ads again. For the longest time, if there was a sale, the kits were only 25% off. The sales were few and far between. I need some more kits to build. I only have about 150 waiting.

Here where I live the Hobby Lobby has 40% all kits regularly, now the usual car kit is 29.99, so 40% of that and add back sales tax, about 20 bucks.

When I was younger (mid-60s) I was into WWII airplanes. P-51s, P-38s, P-40s, Corsairs, & a couple of bombers. Couldn't hold a candle to a friend of mine. He had so many hanging from the ceiling in his bedroom you could barely see the ceiling. I had given thought to building a couple but I have so many car kits I want to build I honestly don't have time. :p
