I am resurrecting an old drag car. It is an original 340 automatic. Has full tubs, narrowed 8 3/4, and frame connectors. It has an old dual point distributor that I am replacing with a Mopar electronic ignition. Currently installing a Painless wiring kit, which is anything but Painless, wont do that again.

I do not know the correct locations for a few things. Ballast resistor, ignition coil, and where to mount the ignition box. I know it is not going to ever be factory correct, but I would still like to have things close to where they should be. Any help appreciated.

Why not go HEI, or CDI, MSD.. just get rid of the ballast resistor and have easier, neater wiring.

As far as the location of things, a '69 Dart did not come with electronic ignition, so the mounting location is up to you- same goes for the electronic voltage regulator if you go that route. Coil mounts on the intake manifold, right rear.
Google up some engine bay pictures of later As to see where the factory mounted everything when it became available in later years.
