What to tell the exhaust shop.

Kicking up an old thread, what great info this is! My first A body has arrived. A 63 Dart GT. I think I'm looking at original exhaust. I know that sounds unlikely but this car was built in LA and never left California till now. Looks to be 1.75 from original intake going to 1.5 on the end, but feels more like an inch. I've never seen pipe this small! I see no usual muffler, but I guess there is a small resonator prior to the step down in size. It's all rusty but still there.

What I've gathered from these posts is that if I take my Dynomax or any muffler to my local shop that can bend pipes they can put me a new exhaust system in. I'm assuming at much less cost than the few pre-bent systems I've seen online, like at accurateltd.com or Mancini. I've used the turbo thrush mufflers before, I have one on a 74 Charger, and like it. With the thrush I can step down to a 2.25 inlet and outlet. I've read bending 2.5 inch could be an issue, and I don't feel like I need 2.5 on this original slant six. No current plans to change the manifold or change the carb. If I wanted to go 2.25 to the muffler, and 2.25 or even 2 inch past the muffler, is the 2.5 dynomax to much? I feel like the 2.25 inch thrush turbo might be the best bet for those size pipes. Thrush # 17713. Any input is appreciated.
