Would you share your nitrous and timing setup?

Cley

weekend warrior with a msd window switch and a nitrous express progressive controler and a fuel pressure switch and as far as timing goes i just pulled 3 degrees out to be safe but a msd start and step timing retard is in the mail . oh and a bottle heater .

can you tell me how you hooked up your timing retard , the msd instructions leave me some questions that i'm to tired to type out now .

thanks .
If I'm not mistaken the instructions to hook it up will probably come with it. But I got to tell you I think I called the MSD line just to make sure I was reading it correctly cuz I hadn't been in my 6al in a long time... Also I really like my window switch...

Hey Jack i'm gonna try that maybe today with a bigger shot or maybe i can mount my phone somehow .

I would move directly to the 125hp jets and skip the 75 setting. You will end up there anyway.

i think i will stick with a 75 maybe a 100 shot but no more the reason being i have a cast scat crank and am at 530 hp naturally so i dont want to go over 620 at the very most and my 904 is only rated at 500 hp and that is the reason for the NE controller to kinda soften the hit .

A great testament to the scat crank though... I think the cast crank in the small blocks will hold up just as good as any other part including the block to a certain point...

i am running a R3 block and a cast crank go figure :realcrazy: lol

I use a timing light to check the timing before running my car. I would not be afraid of the cast crank. Cast pistons would be a different story.

The idea to add a retard switch is a good one if you are fooling around on the street. A pressure referenced bottle heater is a good idea too.

FWIW I ran my 68 GTS at a no prep event a few weeks ago. I was leaving at 5k rpm ramping in a 125hp kit from 80% in .5s on a 235-60-14 tire.

You will be suprised what you can get away with if the chassis is right. My car responds better to more power up to a certain point.

PS my 451 has bushed LY rods and the axles it was born with.

my pistons are forged diamond i think they are good for a 250 shot and i have a pressure switch on my bottle heater and i also have a msd start and step on the way .
