Dyno’d my engine today

Ive heard mothballs to the gas

I tried that in my '73 AMC Gremlin with the 304. Didn't do ****. Neither does Marvel Mystery Oil.
Of course, I also ran it on camp stove fuel, white gas, as well as cheap home depot lacquer thinner. All kinds of stuff works when you're broke as a joke and 19 years old. The power was down significantly, and it dieseled for a good 10-20 seconds after I killed the ignition, so I just threw it in drive and killed it that way.

Father and grandfather worked for the same housing contractor, i was like 9 or 10 at the time. Working a job near Palm Springs Ca. which at the time was just another s$%^hole desert town. Grandfather hears at work from someone that adding a gallon of diesel fuel to the gas tank gives the rotating engine parts a nice lube job. Well Popo feels if a little is good, more is better and he puts in 5 gallons. 5am the next morning dad and I are sitting in the now politically incorrect diner with tigers and jungle themed decor, across the street is the motel Popo is staying at. The parking lot fills with thick black smoke at the motel, then it fills with the local firefighters, just then Popo walks into the diner. "I guess I went a little overboard on the diesel in the gas tank. Just got outa there before the fireman arrived."
