Super bummed. New motor. Bad bearings?

Did You do the aft & fore raps on the crank to seat the thrust faces before torquing the cap? You're using studs's, be sure the pass-through holes aren't too tight to the stud shoulders, could be pushing the cap when You torque it down. Try J.Rob's technique, drill a small hole thru the upper shell thrust face that goes into the main feed to oil the thrust faces directly, and did the crank oil passages get a thorough brush & flush? Could well have been machining/finishing leftovers. Good luck!
