Tell me your thoughts on the whole Spotify, apple I tunes ect.

I just found out I have a Spotify app on my new phone (which I hate!) which I haven't bothered to open.

So, how is this useful in a car, compared to a 200 watt cd player with a bunch of speakers?
And considering I haven't liked any current music for about thirty years?

You can buy a bluetooth receiver/adapter that gives you an audio out that you can plug into your amplifier with RCA connectors, or if you have a 3.5mm mini plug (headphone size) INPUT on your dash unit, you can get one with that fitting.
Also very easy to convert from RCA to mini & visa-versa if needed.

So, with no line in or Bluetooth it's worthless.

Got it, thanks!
Well you could buy a Bluetooth speaker and go that route.
I have done that in my old cars without tunes.

one of my gripes with streaming YT is the commercials. the more i think about it a 10 disc changer isn't a bad idea, I have one somewhere it worked last I knew...:)

Since I have Amazon Prime I use Amazon music. No ads at all. Some songs I like are on unlimited which you have to pay for I do not. So those artist can kiss my ***. I like it I can download my playlist and listen offline.

The biggest issue with streaming music over phone is bit rate. The sound quality is not very good...

That's why thumb drives work if you have a USB.
I did not know it worked that way until I was at the Harley dealer and some dude told me.

One thing I personally like about cd's is that if a computer takes a dump, you still have music.
I guess external hard drives and thumb drives take care of that.

Sound quality is fine streaming on my iPhone SE. Stream via Bluetooth tooth to the Alpine receivers in two different vehicles and to a Bose Wave radio in the garage, that one has a blue tooth adapter plugged into the auxiliary input.
The sound quality on Spotify premium is great. Much better than the free Spotify or SiriusXM.

I listen to the radio. It works good.
Round here the radio SUCKS. Every station plays the same 5 songs over and over and over and over…

With Spotify (or any of the streaming services), you can listen to music for hours without hearing the same song twice. You can pull up old and obscure music you haven’t heard for 25 years that no radio station will play. I have a personalized Waylon station, and I can’t remember the last time any of these stations played Waylon.

Yeah I saw you disagreed with my post that I listen to the radio. Here's a clue. You cannot disagree with that because it's what I do. You can however, agree that YOU DON'T do it. See how that works? You flunked English class, didn't you?lol

Haha, I was disagreeing with how you said it works. To me, playing the same 5 songs ALL day long does not work for me.

I listen to Spotify and when I have no choice the radio.
I also have a Bluetooth mp3 player that I have downloaded a few thousand songs on.
I listen to that often as well.
I believe each has its time and place.
Really most radio stations blow in my opinion.

Speaking of flunking English class, something cannot work “good.” It works “well.”:poke:

By the way, et cetera, meaning "and so forth" is abbreviated etc. It bothers me when I see ect. I see it wrong much more often than right.

Know which one gets me?

If someone abbreviates years, like 1972 to 72'

There is one member on here who signs his posts like that

Well from Spotify to grammar nazi .

This reminds me of every time I drink beer with my friends. The conversation goes way off the rails in almost no time.

Well if you can " Grow your business"... your radio can "work good"...

I listen to the radio in my car only because I am too cheap and lazy to install a more modern head unit in it .
But in the garage I listen to Pandora etc. or Podcasts. I love old country and as mentioned already you just cant find it on the radio .
