There used to be immigrants standing in front of Home depot back in the 90s. if you had a job as a contractor, say ripping a dirty slate or cedar shake roof and you didn't want to do it, you'd go down with a van or pick up and get a group of "day laborers" and pay em $3.50 an hour to rip and pick up the roof.
