I swear, the USPS LOLOL

-
I happen to agree with you, same thing happens here
Yeah I know its hopefully getting better but look at it like this, our own kids don't want to do roofing so what are we to do? Mine has a 4 year degree just got married is working in IT tech support and is going for an MBA. Point is immigrants, whether we like 'em or not have a place here. Been that way for a s lo
Note: If you are illegal, you work under a different set of circumstances.
The average American has one breast and one ********, and is many cases is underworked and overpaid.

I was going to start a business back in 07-08..the economy tanked and I figured Id be working 3 times harder than i already was for the same yearly salary.

This was going to be an auto business
State inspections repairs front end work etc. I to this day still do work but I never did start that business and I don't regret it either...

^^^ They might be illegals, but they don't work cheap anymore an most are not fearful of whatever.
Why should they be fearful? They know nothing will happen to them. They get food stamps, medicaid for the kids and mom, and now they can get drivers licenses and vote in local elections.
So unless they really mess up they are good to go
Unskilled $150 a day semi skilled to skilled $200 easy.....They often get checks which is why you may see many check cashing places in certain areas. 1099's at the end of the year and paying tax? Good luck with that
The downside as ive pointed out to some of them, is 1099 is a independent contractor, no SS benefits, no workers compensation, sure they get hurt or die on the job they or family can sue but again they are illegal and a almost trip back to old country for their family.
They don't understand the protection this country affords workers and all they see is green
They by and large think most Americans are lazy and for the most part they are right
They do learn fast and work very hard as is the case with many immigrants to this country, the difference being here legally and not legally which is suppose to be against the law unless your a super model and marry a multi millionaire real estate developer
They often drive down wages and never really learn the right way or safe way with many trades
They are seen as votes and many want them to be citizens to vote for a certain party and be dammed with everything else
Yes were all screwed but my true distain is for everybody from the homeowner to F-ing lazzy to do some honest work on his days off to the contractor that hire and works then like dogs

I come from a family of immigrants who came here and went through the process at Ellis Island and were legally here
One served in WW1 even before he was a citizen
Big difference than what we've seen over the last 30 years

My last neigbor was from Romania. had a 100 year old house like mine, tore it down built a house too big for the lot, encroached property lies etc.etc. lived there 15 years ,sold it. The neigbors there now are complaining about everything wrong, and they paid a good price for it. they keep saying "brand new" me and the wife are like "that house is 15 years old..." yeah they arent happy. Anyway the romanian who knows what he did for a living but his wife didnt work,. hed tell me " you should tear your house down and build a new one.." I said "yeah Ill get right on that..." ;) never could figure out how he paid for all that...new Mercedes cars and work vans etc.

My cousin in Pa does state inspections. The state just made him buy a piece of equipment that he has to wave the owners card under and all the info is transferred to them immediately. They have our mileage figures and know exactly how many inspections he’s done in X amount of hours.

yeah it got stupid. I first got my inspection license in 1994,and renewed every 4 years until 2016. Then they wanted us to take a test and pay every few years for it. up until then it was a letter asking if you were still doing inspections, you'd say yes and sign it send it back and they'd send a card that was only valid if you had your drivers license. I have been out of the business now 10 years, an I got out for reasons other than that, but going back isn't an option I'm getting old and don't want to pay $200 to take the inspection license test :) But that makes sense How many years has that "bar code" been on the owners cards 20? I remember one inspection mechanic could only do two an hour. The thig is, its not that great of a paying job to be charging mechanics to take a test every 2 to 4 years. if you work for someone else even ten years ago I was lucky to make 45 grand a year. I make 65 now sitting behind a desk for chrissake.

Why work as a laborer when all ya gotta do nowadays is stand in the (littered) intersection in shabby clothes, a bottled water, and a cardboard sign?

The reality of it is, over 700,000 people have died in the US the past couple of years. Better than half of those people were in the workforce.
As people move up to fill vacancies, there is no one left to fill those lower positions.
Regardless of your opinion of legal or illegal immigrants, we need bodies to fill those lower wage jobs. I'm not going out picking lettuce or making hamburgers for minimum wage.
If there is an illegal who is willing to do it and keep costs down, what do you care where they come from.
As for the P/O, they're hurting for help. They have carriers running two routes a day. Working them 12-14 hours a day. I'm retired from the P/O as a city carrier and they sent a letter asking me to consider coming back.
No thanks!
It took me nearly 2 years to get hired on to the P/O. Now, you can walk in and be working a few days later. That's the same for other jobs as well.
My brother works for Ford. He says that they brought in over a 100 temps at the plant he works at. Cincinnati Milacron, one of the biggest milling machine producers in the world, one of the toughest jobs to get around here, has been running help wanted ads on TV here in Cincy during prime time.
All I know is that if I were thinking of opening a fast food joint or retail business, I'd take my butt down to the border and recruit as they came across the wall.
They are SNEAKING into this country illegally. They are here illegally. They are committing a crime. They are costing us billons of dollars a year. There are LEGAL channels for LEGAL immigration. Cheap illegal labor is not the answer to the mess we are in. We need to get politicians to STOP paying people more to stay home than they make working.

They also got finnicky with emissions. It looks to me like they will eventually weed the "small guy" out. Not to get political but D side doesnt want folks accumulating individual wealth, a successful small business used to be a way to do that. An average 4 bay shop in Pa say 20 years ago with two full time guys and a part timer could easily bring in a half million a year. Then you pay bills etc it isnt all profit but yeah you could get where you do make 350-500 thousand a year profit. i don't know about now though. the reason i never opened a shop is because I did extensive research and even took business classes. If you couple what you pay to the state plus the tools. and knowledge needed to work on todays cars you realize it isn't worth it an it isn't fun really. You'd be better off fixing and flipping these old Mopar A bodies and other classics while they are still here and sellable.

Cheap? Where in last worked we had plenty of illegals there, with proper documents (fake or a dead person) and the leads talked them up so they got pretty good raises. Then the leads tool their $100 weekly cut from them, and got a referral bonus for getting them hired. Total scam, if you weren't one of the illegals they referred, you didn't get hired. The percentage of cartel members was astonishing, they are in every town in America, waiting for the word to come down to do whatever it is they are going to do. Safe houses with guns, dealing most of the drugs in my small town America county, no traceable identities. One girl hit a car, got taken by ICE, and was released back into society to go play some more. They all knew what they were doing, and had tons of help getting to the border and across it. They will never stop, they are like an army of ants, block the oath and they will start another.

USPS vs UPS!!
USPS just left my package of windlace sitting out by the gate in the rain, no cover.. Too big for the mailbox. At least UPS would open the gate and come is=n although I always just say put it in a plastic bag and leave by the gate!
The UPS lady drives an hour from home to the terminal, and usually finishes her run around 6 -6;30 and then drives an hour to the terminal and another hour home. She is tough!!

Its been going on for years its more blatant now is all.

Ya know, you could always just quit paying your monthly USPS delivery fee.

I am honestly blessed in the country where I live. Ups and fedex will deliver my packages unsigned for and offer great service. I’m ups only with summit and Jegs only because I’m the late guy on my fedex guys route and if he’s running late I’m bumped till the late guy the next day. Honestly I’m shocked my one red light town, now two because of a new bridge has a post office. My service couldn’t be better. My postal box is across the street and 75 feet down the road. If it doesn’t fit in my box she walks it down to my door.

I know a guy who lives in Hudson valley NY in a pretty decent neighborhood but the road is busy like a two lane 55 blacktop in Pa. he says people steal his packages off his porch which is odd hes a good 15 yards off the road. I think he has the guy drop it around back. but point is you never know what seems like a nice neighborhood really isnt.
