Who’s got a tractor or backhoe?
What did you get? Why? What do you do with it? What attachments do you have?
I bought a Kubota BX23S backhoe in 2018, because I always wanted a backhoe. This backhoe is small enough to easily trailer on my utility/car trailer. I knew that I would use it to take care of my 2.6 acres and 600 foot driveway. I just bought a front snow thrower this summer and I look forward to using it this winter. The last two winters were light, but I used the front end loader to clear the driveway (it left marks on the asphalt). I bought a grapple this past spring and it is great for picking up branches from downed trees and throwing them into the woods. I won’t get a belly mower deck for it because the tractor is slower than the 54” Husqvarna mower I already have. My neighbor has a box grader and a grader blade, that can be connected via the rear 3 point hitch. I bought a Piranha tooth strip for the front edge of the bucket lip, and it cuts into the ground and turf like butter. I also bought a root rake type thing for the same edge of the bucket and it clears light wild weed growth from land I reclaim from the woods.
So far, I’ve dug water and sewer line trenches, dug up the yard for a garden, carry firewood around, clear the driveway in winter, dug out tree stumps, and the like. It’s little 23 Hp diesel purrs along like a champ. I like watching tractor videos on youtube, to see what other people are doing with theirs.
