Weight comparison between a Hemi Dart and a Hemi Barracuda.

Had some fun today. Autoxcuda and I did an alignment on my Barracuda and after getting are butts kicked on that we decided to put the Cuda on a set of scales. The results were interesting and truth be told I’m still trying to figure it out. Here is the breakdown on both cars:
Hemi Dart:
472ci engine, aluminum heads, iron block
727 Auto trans
8 3/4 rear end

Hemi Barracuda:
528ci engine, aluminum heads, iron block
833 manual trans
Dana 60 rear end.

Everything else is the same. Same battery, wheel and tires, factory bumpers, fiberglass parts and even paint prep. Both these cars have factory glass, not the super thin stuff. Factory thick doors, not the light weight ones. Factory thick bumpers and brackets not the light weight ones. The point I’m trying to make is these cars are very equal in builds other than the fact that one is a Dart/auto/8 3/4” and the other is a Barracuda/4 speed/ Dana.

Looking at the photo the car that is on the scale screen it the Barracuda. The photo on the IPad is the Dart. The Dart is at 3209lbs and Barracuda is 3249lbs. Ok….that makes sense, those freaking Dana’s weigh a ton but look at all the other totals…I just find it interesting. AA78C48D-7A8C-4A5D-9131-048DACF54570.jpeg 51D980E3-14EB-49A9-996C-FA4C523BD110.jpeg
