Stop in for a cup of coffee

Alright, so back from a little weekend vacation and i decided to try and start the little 318 again.
The key started working again but no spark. (has it but not enough to light off)
I re gapped the plugs, scraped the points in the cap, checked the rotor, put a new coil in it, and put new plug wires on it.
any ideas?

Wonder were Karl is tonight. @krazykuda

I'm here checking in...

But need to go lay down, my back and neck are giving me some pain... Almost to where I may take a Tylenol.... And I'm not much for taking pain pills anymore after what they did to me a few months ago....

Get a voltmeter and check the voltage going into and out of the ballast resistor...

Ballast resistor out should be 6 volts, ballast in should be battery voltage 12.6 - 15 volts depending if the car is running or just static with the ignition switch on....

Disconnect the coil wire that goes to the middle of the distributor and crank the engine over with the ignition on... If it makes you jump real high, then you should be getting good spark....

Come on Karl, seriously? This thread has been in the ditch for years! There is no saving it. Not a single guy on here can pass a politically correct position much less a sexual harassment threshold. This is where all the malcontents, twisted humor, and just plain deviants hang out. And you Good Sir are our benchmark hero! Rock on coffee thread!

There’s a certain poster that is basically the class know it all. Claims to have all this knowledge and skill but when you read his posts enough, you realize it’s copy and paste from Google or Wikipedia. Or even other posters.

he no longer posts in here and I won’t name drop him. But he’s still around. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if he pops in after this all , and acts butthurt.
So, providing correct answers via copy/paste is a bad thing? Some people are skilled at finding answers. I would rather be that guy than a total askhole.

Only if you’re not actively passing the answers to be of your own.

So I got to do some pistol training with some Rangers attached to this mission. An interesting and challenging drill I wanna try again.

You fire your pistol, mag drop, change mag and then a ranger dumps a bottle of pancake syrup on your weapon and hands, you fire the mag, then try to do a mag change with syrup on your hands
