I was hoping someone can help me out with a question regarding master cylinders. I tried searching but didn’t find an answer,
On my 75 Plymouth (power disk/drums) the large reservoir is in the front, on the replacement, it’s on the back, however, the fittings are on the same spot, are the internals different? Can I use the new one or do I need to make new lines to connect it to the proportioning valve?
Thank you in advance!

That's a new one.

Typically the rear most piston applies the front most piston, typically the front brakes are applied first then the rear.

The new mc looks like all the ones i have ever seen.

That being said...
What does the Factory Service Manual show?

Looking through rock auto for all 75 plymouth vehicals it looks like there are master cylenders with the resivours reversed. But they are 2 hole and for trailduster an PD vehicals.

I would trace out the lines and if the front brakes end up being attached to the new larger resivour it should be safe.

(This is just my opinion you do what you feel is safe)

The larger reservoir is definitely for the front disk brakes. I see your old one had a rounded front — that must be a factory one. My 67 Barracuda had one that looked like that. But every one I have seen recently looks like the new one, with a flat front and the reservoirs switched (small one in front). Usually the hard lines have enough slack to reach.

Yes the large reservoir is for the front discs. Re-plumb as required.

Thank you all for the reply's! I cleaned the old MC and the ports were marked (F, R) respectively, same as with the new MC and the fittings on the lines can only go one way. After I installed it and started bleeding the brakes, rear first, the small reservoir was in fact for the rear brakes. Apparently the MC is plumbed in reverse to accommodate the small reservoir in the front, so all is well. Thank you all again,
