There are two types of people

This is a true story that happened to me today.

I had some errands to run in town, and I decided to take the Scamp. It's not perfect - cracked windshield, 20 foot paint, driver door sags. Whatever. But it runs great and sounds great. My first stop was in the warehouse district and there happened to be some road work going on where I had to park. When I came out from my first stop, there were some construction workers loitering around my car. I had a good chat for about 25 minutes with them about it (and their cars as well), and they gave nothing but compliments, even though I was trying hard to point out my car's deficiencies. I exchanged phone numbers with one of the guys and we all shook hands.

Next stop was on the "other" side of town. I stopped for gas, and the guy at the next pump over started to chat me up about my car. It’s important to note that he was driving a new Honda Accord hybrid and wearing designer sweatpants with aviator sunglasses. Once again, I pointed out that it was not perfect, but I still like it. He agreed that it was indeed not perfect and began to squint and look down the body lines. He didn't hesitate to point out that one of my quarter panels had had some body work done, and that there was some rust here, the hood wasn't aligned properly, and a dent there. I think I counted three times that he said my car "needs some work" in the short time we talked.

Water off a ducks back your paying the bills if it makes you happy that’s all that counts. Had both sides of the coin at car shows. Praise I say thanks. Running it down I say well that’s your opinion and in my opinion it sucks.
