Having a problem finding the correct Jam nut to put on the end of the threads on the control arm to hold the wheel bearing and wheel on a 69 dart. I went to hardware store and went thru the test nuts sampler they have on the wall where u can find what nut goes on what shaft. i cant remember the size of the jam nut I bought but it is a little loose on control arm and will not tighten up on threads so wheel stays on. Anyone know what it would be? Beleive there are 2 different types of A body control arms with different threads.

PLEASE don't trust that "job" to a hardware store nut!
Yes. I am looking where to purchase a spindle nut with tonged washer. Just need to make it a roller for now to get it on a trailer. That’s why I am at hardware store. Where can u purchase these?

This is a kit, but nut size is defined nonetheless as 3/4-16. Confirm your own fitment.

Here is the nut on it’s own, available at my local auto parts store.

Note the Dorman brand and part number.

I would just go into your auto parts store and let them know what you are looking for, to insure you get the right part.

For that matter just post a want ad, surely someone will respond and make one available to you.

will check it out. I know they are 2 different sizes. Thats why the nut I took off a 69 barracuda wont fit this control arm threads. It is loose and slides over the threads.

The spindle nut for the 9" brakes is unique...Mopar part# 2072731. The 10" drum and disc spindle nuts are the same....part# 1732300. Same thing on the washers and grease caps.

The nut you are calling a control arm jam nut, is neither a jam nut nor does it have anything to do with the control arm.

It is a castellated spindle nut, and is held in place by a cotter-pin, usually accompanied by a special washer.
Do not install and actual jam-nut in that location.

In a pinch
I suppose you could install any nut that fits, but you will have to figure out a way to keep it from unscrewing itself. but
Do not install and actual jam-nut in that location, as it will deform the threads. That spindle is relatively soft in that location.

The nut itself isn't castleated. There's a stamped steel castleated cover that goes over the spindle nut. It has many adjustment slots for the cutter pin which locks everything in place.

Can anyone tell me where I can buy this nut? The spindle nut for the 9" brakes is unique...Mopar part# 2072731 and I also found out it is superseded to part # 6029691 I called local dodge parts dealership and they say both of those part numbers are no longer available. Discontinued. Parts stores are unable to cross reference it also. I did go on Oreillys auto parts website and found a few nuts but I dont have the dimensions to this nut. Is a dorman 9/16-18 hex net the same? They show several hex nuts on the their website but not sure which one it may be on Oreillys website

Try a salvage yard?

I very well might have one if the stuff we removed from my son's 65 didn't get tossed. If I do, it's yours for the postage.

No yards around here with that kind of car or nut. Need it soon.

Alright, not sure when it would get to you. Someone gave the specs. Your best bet is taking those specs and getting one from the store for rolling it around. Just do NOT let anyone drive with something that isn't auto grade

Believe the one you have posted here from Amazon is for the 10" drum which I do not need. I have those unless you are refering that there are several nuts that come in this package of different sizes?

Just going based on this.

What is the size of the Jam nut I need for the front control arm?

Which says it's for a 9" drum. Bottom line is you can measure the nut and threads and google it. That one is a pack of five, not difference sizes...
