What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

Went to a local car show on Sunday. Pretty well attended considering it rained on and off all day

I spent five hours scrubbing 48 years of nicotine and filth off of the interior of my newly-acquired Satellite. Grosses me out that I actually drove the car before the cleanup...

Do you think it's worth $75 it should be from a 1970 340. Any thoughts on the price? I'm the buyer. Not the seller.

That interior came out great. My truck was owned by a smoker. I pulled the panels off to put new speakers in and that stuff got behind the panels I had to clean a bunch of ooozz off of it.

Went to the "end of the season" car show at the Packard Proving Grounds with the TACC (Twisted Axle Car Club). Guesstimating 400 cars!

Had a new ex system put on the car today.I was shocked when I came to pick it up,the guys had managed to get 3" tail pipes on it.I know it's no big deal on most cars but I have all those -12 braided fuel lines running from the tank,2 pickup lines, pressure and return and a vent. It took them 5 1/2 hours.Nice job...

Beginning to fix an oil leak between the Timing cover and oil pan. Never again will I not pull the oil pan when replacing the timing chain cover.
Out with the old and in with the new. I am also going with a new windage tray with a rubber gasket for the oil pan. In case I need to pull the pan, it will be much easier. All in all it took about 2.5 hours to drain the oil, the coolant and most of the transmission (I have a cooler that was in the way), remove the oil pan bolts, the fan shroud, fan, fan pulley, the water pump, hoses, alternator, harmonic balancer (dampener) and the timing chain cover. All that is left for disassembly is the oil pan and cleaning the gaskets surfaces. No way I would want to do this without a lift.

340 continues to come to life...

Also worked some valve cover repairs. The little tabs that hold the wire harnesses only bend so many times in 50 years. So mine had some tabs missing. Just cut them off and welded some new ones on. Just have to put the plastic "dip" on the ends but that will come. Have the covers in black primer right now.

Are you going to leave it on the porch overnight?:poke:

No - but I sent my last package to your address just so I could "swipe" it from you!! :poke:

How is that oil leak coming along? Shouldn't the earth just east of Detroit be trembling again about now?

Getting closer to the end of the cruise-in season. Not too many people showed up at the Steak & Shake despite the beautiful evening...
The Dart is running cooler since I got the timing curve sorted out. Of course the weather was also cooler today, but temps never got over 182 on the highway and stayed a few degrees below 180 on the back roads.

Doing another show tomorrow and pushing for another 1K of drive time per year after the setbacks! This show will be 100 round trip.

If the weather is as nice as suspected, maybe another 100 mile cruise afterwards! That will get me very close with all the late season driving!

Great Crusin today and a good show.

Not often another Real true BB A-body shows up around here. 68 GTS 383 Dart. It has been modified as a tribute Mr. Norms GSS 440, but an original H Code Dart.

And a 1950 Dodge PW that was over the top and detailed to the hilt.

Sorry pics of the 68 Dart were tough with the sun and cars parked around it.

Changing the head gaskets on my son's 89 Buick T Type.I was suppose to do it in the spring, but better late than never...

@1969383S wow! Two beautiful Mopars right there! Was the show in Dahlonega?

That 1950 PW was a real awesome site! It will never see it's true lives purpose again! The owner Thinks it may bring 60K in value.

I should have offered that! I have seen them selling on BJ and Mecums near 200K or higher!

It should be able to pull a house down the road, for sure!!

Last Pic of that Gorgeous PW.

Love that PTO Winch with the braking pad.

I'm giving myself 2 weeks to paint the Black on the right bezel. You don't wanna know the brush size. :(
