How many here have numerous cars?@str12-340 mentioned.

I currently have my 68 Coronet 500 vert, 68 Barracuda Coupe and 79 Ford F-150.

I’ve owned a number of brands but for Mopar, 67 Coronet 440 vert, 67 Coronet 440 2-dr HT, 71 Dart Swinger, 74 Dart 4-door, and 69 Chrysler Newport 440 2-dr.

I was planning to put the Barracuda up for sale last year but started having neck issues which led to an operation a couple months ago. Slowly recuperating, so maybe next spring.

I've been looking for a nice clean duster, dart, scamp for a while now. There hasn't been a mopar on craigslist in Missouri for a long time now. I don't have the resources and time to travel to check out cars that's why I've been looking in the area where I live. There's not much of anything out there, is the classic car market drying up?
Are you looking at two doors only? four doors are becoming very popular as well.

I could see a 4 door with a nice V8 drivetrain and nice wheels. Dial it in so it chits and gits...

I saw a 64 valiant 4 door runs and drives in Philly for 3 grand...
It ain't an A body but a 64 Belvedere MORE DOOR poly 318 all body/paint done, very nice, new AMD windshield and back glass and gaskets, new front A100 seats, new tires, drive ANYWHERE $5000 /offers. This car is 95% restored!!!! Cars are out there, just takes work to find a good one.

Thanks for the info. I remember a couple of those cars, I was down with back issues back then.

A jeep isnt a muscle car...neither is a pickup truck with super bee stripes around the back. True modern muscle is out of reach for most young people money wise new or used. Im talking the combination of performance and style. I got into a conversation with a nitwit in a bar. i was talking about my Fox body to a friend and he chimed in about his Nissan . I said "nobody wants to hear about your Nissan" it didn't matter if it had 300 hp to my stock foxs 225...id keep up with it at top end because of power to weight ratio and torque at RPM...
A truck is not a car, so it can't be a Muscle car, but it can be a Muscle truck or in my case I had a 72' Dodge Van with a 70' 340 in it, I just called it "BAD ***". The term "Muscle" would be the motor not the car itself. All Darts, Challengers and Chargers are not "Muscle" cars.

Not trying to get into arguments over definitions, if I was I would have given more of a reply to the last feller with his long drawn out reply.. citing that "its my opinion" etc. On another note...ex brother in law of mine had a Dodge van with a 440 in it..nuts, I wonder how it handled on high speed corners...:)

P.S.I have nothing against trucks I own a 4X4 however I wont spend a dime or any time or effort adding performance parts to it. I fix it when its broken or needs maintenance and I use stock OEM type parts.

Dan the Man, I think you're onto something with this question. I've watched the classic car and parts markets for around 45 years and they are changing more rapidly than ever before. I bought 4 A-body cars in the last 2 years and I can attest, they are definitely getting harder to find, even though the tools we have to find them now are better than ever. One reason is people like me who like to collect and tend to sit on them, but I'm sure the parts guys are also having an effect. In my area there are 4-5 guys who are each probably responsible for scrapping 40-50 cars in the last decade or 2. But it's the next decade that I believe is going to be the most life-altering for mopar lovers. The threat we face is the evolution of the EV market. Good for the environment I know, but not so much for muscle cars. The transition is happening right under our noses and it's largely a function of capital (stock) markets and the ridiculous amount of money that people (me included) are investing in it in hopes of huge financial rewards. Now, we've been withstanding the constant attempts by environmentalists to stamp us out for years. Cash for clunkers and all the changes in enforcing inspection of smog equipment and restricting aftermarket parts have had a serious impact, but nothing like what's about to happen. In less than 10 years, the demand for gasoline for cars will drop just enough to make the oil companies replace it with other more profitable sources of revenue. The price of gas will then move out of the range of the average person who wants build street cars. It will also be harder to find. As this starts to unfold, we're going to find that our beloved A-bodies are going to lose value in a big way. Who wants a muscle car if you can't enjoy driving it? If you're holding a big collection, your clock is ticking...when the window closes on these markets, it won't ever re-open. This is the harsh truth.

^^^There is a long long road ahead for the electric car/truck to travel BEFORE it is mainstream. Yes our old 60s cars are getting harder to find. There are a ton of them out there unrestored ( mostly sad condition), a zillion restored to some degree, and many projects sitting in garages in various states.
Old cars out of the 40s are out there. Good project?s Not really, all need a ton of work just like those out of the 60s 70s! But most of even the nice restored driver from that era are very afforable. Sure the top examples of street rods are expensive but look at the $$$ put in those.
There were some guys back in Mo in the 80s,90s that parted out cars guys would give their left *** for today. So is life.
The idiots have been trying to outlaw the horse/competitions for decades. Never will happen either.
Some people will eventually worry about food rather than gas.

Not to insult the guys who cut up cars for cash, but i know a guy that has chopped over 200 Mopars.. and then there's the guy i sold one of my Dusters to @ Big Daddys show in 07 or so. Pretty damn solid, v8, fr disks, 8 3/4. He parted it for a quick buck..

Anything that's not falling apart is going for $$$$

Especially if you hit the trifecta

2 door
V8
4 speed
My Trifecta!
I'll sell mine as is when it's time. I'm not going to paint it. The next guy can do that.
