supplier of slant engine rebuild kits/parts?

-
Ebay..... Ive bought alot of new engine parts there. New but good old parts from back in the day. You cant be in a hurry. I've also gotten parts from Summit, Jegs here and there. I havent tried to get much from these 2 outfits for my /6 cuz I found most of what I need elsewhere with little trouble.
Also dont forget about Rock Auto.
Ive gotten all my /6 parts within the last year.
put wanted ads out here, someone may have leftovers theyd be willing to sell....

what all are you after?

I stay away from ready to buy kits. I piece my own parts together.

Does your build threads/vids mention which brands you favor??
There is a shortage of so much right now of everything.
Are you building back stock or medium performance or high performance.
For gaskets, Federal Mogul has a complete set
Some use upgraded intake / exhaust gaskets from Remflex.
For bearings, tri metal, Clevite 77 steel crank. King bi metal bearings with cast crank.
Pistons - Rings, stock Silvolite, performance K1 forged, and many other adaptations like using 2.2 L hyper pistons.
Rods, stock resize and use existing, performance K1
Pushrods, stock re use, performance Smith Brothers
Oil pump, stock, clean up and re use existing, performance see eBay, nos rebuild kits show up from time to time.
Spark plug wires stock can get about anywhere, performance Magnacore
Valves and valve springs, stock Rock Auto, Performance lots of options. I used Ford 289 valves and beehive springs in my last build.

I will mill the head probably .080 and make sure block is square and flat, BUT nothing performance really, rather than just a little more power than stock for seat of pants giggles. Hardened exhaust, have Oregon cam guys do a good torque regrind, solid lifter engine. Very small giggles!!
I have a few blocks that are standard with a little ridge, far as I have gone, I have no place to work right now atually. Sad but true. Shed is too full to move in.

Why the Ford 289'S ....??

Why the Ford 289'S ....??

They were the size for valve diameter and stem size and stem length that I was looking for, Ford 289 just happened to fit the bill. I got them through a Ford Performance shop and a big plus was that they were already swirl polished and back cut.

I just hawk ebay for NOS rings and bearings. Michigan, Clevite, Sealed Power. As long as it's a name brand and OLD it's probaby good.

You'll like it. I'm amazed every time I drive Vixen. I know I have a lot of compression and gear but she'll make the front end really rise up at highway speed. It's amazing the amount of torque it has.

It goes in the wife's RaodToad. I painted it 6-7 yr ago and recently changed the color to B3 for her liking. I put in a pair of A100 style SmittyBilt seats and redied the back seat to match since it was solid. I did the brakes last winter For yrs decades ago it was the pace car for a Mo dirt track!
Will need carpet, I will fab door panels, SHE will want a headliner (maybe), need to get some 14 in SBP steelies and tires. Make some exh pipe. Check out the front end that looks good.
I will get some pics
