Haha well it was a MULTITUDE of reasons.

9/11 had just happened. I wanted payback
Both my grandfathers served, one in two wars, ww2 and Korea.
I wanted to help out my community when **** hit the fan.
BDUs and DCUs looked badass.
I wanted to shoot guns on someone else’s dime. And lastly,
They were offering college money, something I needed.


The regret I had was choosing Army Guard over Air Guard.

A little warmer at 30 this morning. Maybe some flurries today.
Buddy’s caravan had a strut failure. So thats 1st on the agenda.

Actually did not want to be homeless, and three meals a day, Jail isnt so good, so choice #2! Actually a few, one in every generation of mt family served. My turn really. Started in the Cold war days end ended in Afghanistan days. Who would have known. Only regret is not staying active and changing career fields so often hurt me big time in rank, Hell like my GNYSGT friend said "If your not the same rank twice you aint ****!"

Morning fellows! I have a little beer duty this morning. It shouldn't take only a few min. though. I need to add the infused orange peels to my stout. They have been basking in Wheatley Vodka for 10 days. The orange and the vodka all goes in.

Speaking of beer. I picked these both up the other day. The Dogfish Head Utopia is a very limited run and expensive...and delicious 17.6%. I miss read the price label. I likely wouldn't have bought the 4 pack. The Pecan Kringle is full on pecan pie in a bottle. 12.3%.

I joined because I needed a break from society at the time.
I went to the recruiter on a Wednesday and asked how soon I could leave. I was on a plane headed to Ft Jackson, S.C. on Sunday.
Boot Camp was one of the best things I did in life.
I matured and gained a lot of confidence in myself.
It only got better from there.

Well. the pecan doesn't appeal to me so much. But I am overdue for some good Imp Stout. The Utopias WWS is calling to me. LOL. So dare I ask just how obnoxious was that price?
