need to buy new front brake drums, 9 in, may be interested in rear. for 1968 Dodge Dart 270, SL-6

Just realized front drums are original and told were OK. One binds badly with all new shoes and parts. Will measure today with brake drum measuring tool.

May be interested in rears. NAPA and O'Reilly are no go....sad to say. Ebay says yes we have them but always no availability and refund 2-3 days latter.

I think we are in for a **** load of hoard problems coming fast. Where we use to be able to get stuff like this for almost free it will now be almost unobtanium. Welcome America to the list of third world countries.

I also have loaded backing plates with new parts
I am sure these drums are new

Reply to Blind Squirrel's. Not so much horded inventory. Bigger problem has been, that low performance and slant 6 parts AND owners, have been low priced bottom feeders. Sure supply has been plentiful to support that model, but it gave little incentive to save or hoard that sort of inventory. Fast forward to now, and much of the 'common' service components are not out there.
Case in point 9" brake drums. Compare to 10" drums which I have and would save any good one.

you did try?
Rock Auto
Kanter Auto
Mobile Parts 123
They might? be sources for left over new ones.

thx for your suggestions. I talked to RockAuto and NO, talked to mobileparts and NO. Did not realize drums can be found but w/ NO hubs,,,,,,dah!!!! Drums if purchased present a machine operation plus special tool to remove hubs and reinstall in new drums (machine shops in my area are clueless as to what I need). Also balance is a question/concern plus all drums today made in China. I have found (2) used OEM under 9.090 using Hemmings and Ron Johnson at 603-209-1678. He is in NH and sells/finds/buys MOPAR parts.

How’d you talk to rockauto? All I’ve seen is shity online chat...

OK...my bad. Ordered online, received drums from RockAuto, returning today. No bubs so I have a return label and charged $15 return shipping. Don't know if complete refund will occur. Drums are from China (bad news). Call Ron Johnson at 603-209-1678 for OEM used and possibilities.

I, of course, have N.O.S. U.S.A. made Front & Rear Brake Drums --- 9" x 2 1/2" Fronts and 9" x 2" Rears --- nice and inexpensive --- as well as *** N.O.S. *** Asbestos ***
Brake Shoes --- to make the slant sixes stop on a nickle....

Nothing could be more perfect.......

Thanks to you barracudakid, now it is even "more perfect",
And, I have wheel studs -- New-- LEFTY s & Rightys.....

We will see if Alan / mydart270 can afford to do this job the right way......
And... treat his car correctly.......

Craig....
