For the record? I believe a mid 70s Duster is the best drag race platform for the home garage build can attempt with Mopar? You can still find for relatively cheap $$ And can accommodate even a RB build. Like I tell my Chevy friends. The Duster is Mopar's "Nova" Like the Nova, both are naturally nose heavy when bigger/taller rear tires are added. Thus it naturally launches better than let's say an E-body. (Or in Chevy world? Compared to a Camaro.)
it's lighter than B-bodies. Like the Nova being lighter than Chevy's Chevelles. And like the Nova? Definitely less expensive.
My 74 Duster 451 build. If broke down by components? About a $15k car that runs low 10s. To compare to my street GTX? Just a shell beginning platform would cost more than $15k. Add another $25k to get it anywhere near 10s.
In closing? The Duster? Mopar's best bang for the buck.
