Well I just got my torqstorm, so I figured I would post it's journey.
First off it's going on a 408 in my 73 dart.
This 408 was built for a little spray. Does not have a "turbo" cam and is 11.7:1 compression.
This is not a daily driver. I am also converting everything to e85 to help with any detonation issues that may show up.
I know this blower is small, but it will be a fun experiment and if I feel like I need to upgrade, I have 2 other small block a bodies this thing would feel right at home with.

First off it's well packaged, and it's Purdy.

The bracket is thick and everything lines up just right.
When I was looking into the kit initially I was worried about the crank pulley and how it was setup, mainly because I need the underdrive. That being said, the supplied pulley is a beaut. It is basically a March underdrive pulley designed with the blower drive, matches my old March pulley.

I have the supercharger all bolted up and lined up, pretty dang good. I did have to add a washer to help line up the bracket. But the kit does still work the power steering. Tight fit though.

It didn't take long to get everything bolted. Pretty streamlined. But now I'm stuck waiting for my e85 HP innovations carb to show up.
In the mean time I can start to change some of my fuel system over and remove the nitrous plate and wiring.
I'll keep you guys updated.

Really interested in this as I’ve been toying with the idea in getting one I’ve these. My 408 is @ 9.85 and using the MLS 27 thou head gaskets not sure if I would have to drop comp down to avoid detonation . Running the sniper aswell so I’m pretty sure it’s capable I can use it with the setup. I will be following this . Cheers

I would think 9.8:1 would be doable with 91/93 pump, you can always setup some form of meth injection too.

Yes I do run 93 all the time , those torque storms are good out the box @ 8psi ? Is that correct ? as mine no drag car just a street and the occasional track which it hasn’t been to as yet as I would like to get an idea in what it will do but I’ve been getting a few people lately stop light racing me I get the thumbs up and the odd one who will blow me off after getting smacked

Boost depends on engine.. but stick I think 6-10psi is what is advertised.

I'd think that compression is gonna ping like crazy under boost but maybe a methanol induction or some really high octane E-85 would help. Let us know how it goes, lay the groundwork for many to come.

I did mention it's going to be an ethanol build. Just waiting on the carb to show up.

Nice. Thank for posting the details of the crank pulley. You never really see the drive setup. I’ll be watching.

Pinging?!?! Less timing. Yea… it’s a HP looser, better than an engine lost! It’s doable.

Congratulations!

What was the price tag for the Torqstorm kit?

Mocking the pipes... I don't really like the carb hat. But it will do for now. I think eventually I'll make a different pipe with v band type clamps.

If anyone else is wondering about the top radiator hose. I found one at Auto zone, needed a smidgen of trimming.. but otherwise looks like it will be ok. Part # D71762

Nice. I like the hose, looks like it was made for it. I like a factory style molded hose over anything else. Really smartens up the look.
