Rocker oiling or lack of .

I went through this recently with Comp steel rockers on a 440.
What I did: primed pump, nothing to the rockers. Rotated crank about 10* [ cam has the oil holes, it only moves 5* ] & primed again. I kept rotating the crank 10*/priming until I got oil out of one side. Looking at an old cam, I was able to determine how far I needed to rotate the crank to line up for the other side. Which I did. Bingo, oil!
You can also just go 10* until you hit oil, but you may have to two full turns on the crank, depending on where the oil holes were when you started.
