I came up with this today while installing my rockers . Its always a pain keeping the pushrods positioned while torqueing down the shafts.

The rubberbands keep pressure on the pushrods so they stay in the adjuster cups and swated properly in the lifter.

Another method is a length of welding wire or similar laying across the head in front of the pedestals, keeping the p rods in place.

Ive done that as well but This way keeps the pushrod seated in the lifter bucket .

That's a pretty good idea!

I like it and thanks I may try that today as I will have my rockers on and off a couple of times checking my valve spring clearance mods. I’ve also used the dipstick trick but all that does is keeps the pushrods out from under the rockers.

Great idea! And, for those thinking of going roller cam, how’s about some useful feedback on the lifters your using and what if any clearancing did that LA non-roller block require? Doesn’t look like you had to do any.

Ob yeah I did ... plenty of grinding to clearance for the link bar rivets . Easy enough to do on bare block though .
Use a sharpie or paint pencil to mark the areas needing grinding . Some lifter sets dropped right in others would not.
As for quality of the lifters I cant say until after I have put some serious drive time on them.
Shane (dart1966) hooked me up when worked for Crower otherwise these are $900 + for lifters so they better be good ! Lol

LOLOL I just think YOU WANTED TO SHOW OFF THOSE PORTS!!!

Yeah I used an interior decorators trick and outlined the ports in yellow so as to draw your attention to the area...lol
Or I used it for contrast to check the port match with borescope ....

OK- a dumb question. What is the purpose of such large exhaust cross-over in those heads? Intake/exhaust look amazing!

If it dynos well I will post the results. If it dynos low I will quietly disappear for a while ...lol

Are the roller lifters solid or hydraulic? I've been trying to find some Morel hydraulic rollers for my motor, and apparently they are sitting on one of the cargo ships in the ocean. :BangHead:
