My quest for a 9, I failed.

....................
I think if you would have farted at the finish line you would have got your 9 sec run:poke::D
^^^^This....just kidding.

Looks like it may have been track prep (slow 60' times). I wouldn't worry too much about it, with a little cooler air it will be there for sure....She's flyin.

I'v been no were near 9, and don't know but here is what i'm thinking.
Some of them AN fitting, can be dam SmALL on the inside diameter. I would look into that before a better fuel pump.

Thought about any aerodynamics.......like maybe a front air damb?????

I was a little gassy, but a old guy told me years ago "never trust a fart". It would've been a little awkward to explain the stench back in the pits. LOL

Ewwwwwwww!!! You got the horrible .00 disease!! I feel your pain! I had the dreaded .000 disease for a couple of WEEKS before I got in the 11’s. I had I think three .000’s before I ran 11.98 which I called DEEP in the 11’s!!!

No failure! Just gained knowledge. Is there room to advance the cam?

it's in at 106°, where Dwayne recommended it.

The 60', 1/8 ET and mph were off from what it normally runs so I know it has 9's in it.

On the 10.008 pass I jetted the secondary's down two sizes. The last T&T i ran about two weeks ago I had jetted it up and it slowed a little in the 1/8, just wanted to make sure it wouldn't lean out any in on the back half. The fuel pressure is set at about 5 1/2 psi and is down to 3 psi in the traps.

Not complaining really, the car ran hard but I know there is a 9 in it.

You definitely need more fuel pressure. Ive always been set it at 7 and been 5 in the lights.

That statement is not true. I felt the same way, only i was running 9 psi thinking i would keep more fuel in the bowl.
I did sever tests to Prove a member on here was DEAD WRONG on less pressure keep the fuel bowl full.

I set up buckets, valves, measuring devices and proceeded to prove him wrong!!!!!
What i found out was that at 6 psi i gained a lot more volume then i did at 9 psi.
Completely backward from what i be leaved!

Justin i would look for some restrictions in your fuel line before i when with a bigger pump.
some of them AN Fitting neck down way smaller then you would think.

That doesn't work for everyone, I found my buddies car had around 7.5 to feed a tunnel ram, it wouldn't leave clean for nothing. Dropped the pressure to 5.75ish & the next slip showed a missing .350 in et

Thumper built my carb and installed .128” bottom feed needles. His instructions were to run 5 1/2 psi. My current pump is a Holley billet 150, I have a Magnafuel 275 that needs resealed. I resealed it once and it leaked again in short order, may give another try.

Is that the gerotor holley? Loved my 250 Mallory gerotor, but if it ever needs a replacement, gonna go with the holley. My 250 cost $60, now they are $600.

i had a dead headed Holley black on my W5 deal. Everybody said it wasnt enough pump. Swapped in an expensive new fuel system with bypass…. Didn't pick up anything.
Your mph is there. Get the 60 foot sorted out, it will run 9.80’s in good air.
You jetted up and it picked up, tells me fuel is fine

Honestly, I don’t think it’s running out of fuel and don’t see it picking up with a larger pump. That’s why the Magnafuel is still on the shelf.

My buddy runs 350 gph in a stroked small block low tens, I can't remember exactly what he said but I have that black Holley pump he said no you can't use it you'll run out of fuel, pump can't keep up

i went 9.80 at 3350 with that black pump. Its plenty of pump. 1.34 60 foot

guys running them on 8 sec cars making 800+ horsepower

Thanks, saves me from buying another pump lol.

Maga, do you have the black holley pump that is just an upgrade blue, or the gerotor? (which is also black) . Built-in confusion.

33 the pump I'm running (see link above) is a gerator style.

Quote from Holleys site.
"Looking for a fuel pump that is quiet, stylish, powerful and dependable? Look at the Holley HP 125 and HP 150 series fuel pumps. The exclusive gerotor gearset quietly and efficiently pumps the fuel without the noise of traditional vane pumps."
