NO PREP RACING

-
No prep is for mental midgets, the racing typically sucks, the crowd is usually consumed by more retards and punks so it's just a place that I choose not to go because I don't enjoy hanging out with idiot **** high schoolers or adult adolescents.

So is it you came into personal contact with a no prep scene and got side swiped or something? did a close friend die? Is it the airport incident mentioned earlier? I get you are against it, but Im trying to understand why? I dont do it personally although guilty of it in the past, I agree with others that the cars are faster now and when I was partaking in said dark art, we were really fairly under the radar. Late at night, no spectators really, just havin fun.

I would rather watch no prep compared to NHRA. I have no idea what you are talking about an accident where someone got killed. You, 68cuda416, take your rant and rage somewhere else. Now, go to your quiet room and hopfully a 767 engine won't fall out of the sky into your safe place. I don't care where you go or what you do, there is a risk involved, that's life, and none of us will get out of this alive.

Yeah i'm contemplating doing what i'm told and I choose to not give a **** what you think.....

So, if you break the speed limit? Are you turning yourself in? A burnout is reckless in this state, they have the right to pinch your car. Technically a no prep race is ANY drag race on the street. People taking risks and putting others in danger....I feel this could get sticky quick. I understand what you are saying. There are venues out there that are not equipped to handle the kind of action that shows up. Letting people stand too close and too far down the track is risky. They dont know what they are doing? In the Texas incident, there were things that easily been avoided with a little common sense and the only person hurt would have been the driver. I still wonder why you have so much emotion about this. I am truly sad if you had someone get hurt as a result of someone else being stupid, but to paint everyone with a brush so broad isnt going to stop anyone on here from street racing if thats how they pass their time. If your avatar is your car it looks nice, I can only assume its been over 70. I bet you took the proper 'once over' before giving it a blast. Many street racers take the same precautions and actually wont race if the scene is too popular. There are calculated risks to take to live. Anyway, good lookin avatar. Maybe you can let us in on why you are so heated? If not, no biggie, I passed on the right on the way home today from some Jag off thinking the left lane was for his cell phone conversation....could have been a bad deal.

There were no barrier rail pass the finish line 1/8 mile....but there were spectators with vehicles park pass the finish line......No one should have been allowed without barrier rail protecting them.....

Not sure I have seen this "no prep" racing . What does that even mean ?

Sounds like another reallity show.

I raced a few street races back in the 80s. It was safe , nobody was drinking , cars were mechanically sound .

NOT ! Even then I knew it was astupid thing to do . But I majored in doing stupid things ... lol

But we still dont know the OP's reference for his rant. We cant assume it was the Texas incident. We can evaluate that, but without knowing what @'68cuda416 is talking about....its all speculation. Not all street scenes are created equal. I watch that S10 kid and his Dad on you tube and agree that there are some SKETCHY 1/8 mile venues that are not at all safe .....for the drivers...but (now Ill have to double check) IIRC I dont think Ive seen spectators up and down the road...but again...maybe its not a spectator complaint...maybe its that the OP just doesnt like drivers that he feels has to prove that their little dick doesnt matter in life. I dunno...just a guy over here.

EDIT. love that stockholm race though...seems a little off the hook , ya? That little black OPEL?

Times have changed. It's not the 70s or 80s anymore. Lots of traffic on the roads.

Pretty obvious what the rant is about.

The absolute dumbest, I have a little dick and I want to show you how I can get my car down a bald *** track or even worse public street or airport strip. When will the stupidity stop and when will the dumbest jerk offs in the racing community realize that this only hurts the drag racing scene even more when needless deaths of spectaters and or drivers happen.[/QUOTE
While I don't want to in any way minimize the tragedy that occurred in Texas, condemning a whole segment of our sport over one incident is just not right. And using childish language in your condemnation does nothing to help your argument. The promoter of the event in Texas should not have allowed anyone to be parked that close to the racing surface without safety barriers in place. That's on him and I'm sure he'll be facing legal action at some point.
If you want to limit your condemnation to this one event, that's fine. But to paint everyone who participates in NPK events with the same brush is just ridiculous.

Just so your not confused.....yes I put all no prep racing into idiot **** category

I race at no prep events and enjoy them immensely. We race at the track so safety is kept in check. The OP would have a good time voicing his opinion at one of these events lol.

Calling people names because you don't understand something will not erase this tragedy or turn back time and help the organizers see their mistakes before it was too late. The driver should have aborted that run IMO. The safety staff should not have allowed people to congregate that close to the track either.

A high hp car can be a lethal weapon. Drivers, crew members, track offiicials and spectators alike need to be aware.

RIP to the family of those kids. Having lost a very young child I can understand some of what they must be going through even if I am less of a man for racing at no prep events where the proceeds go to kids with cancer.

To the OP...i bet you don't run your mouth like that anywhere but your kitchen and the keyboard lol.

And.....another side to the story. Thanks for sharing Jeramiah.

I don't attend those events so your right I guess I wouldn't be voicing my opinion, I have seen them before and it's usually a spin fest when it's actually no prep and so the racing in itself is less competitive and suited for children.

Spoken like a true non-adolescent idiot-**** high-schooler, lucky the "legitimate" racing community has a non-retarded vanguard like You to "represent", for the un-mentally midgeted..........

Trust me I cringe when some of these guys drive too. That goes for prep and no prep. With little experience and poor judgement we have a recipe for disaster.

If I said I didn't shed a tear or two for those folks I'd be fibbing you.

Spinfest....I launch my 68 at 5k rpm on the nitrous on a 235-60-14 DOT bias ply without issue. It is a 4 speed and there is no spin fest. Water burn out only fwiw. Most of the no prep racers attend with thier families from what I have seen. Too much TV will male you believe anything I guess.

And please don't call people thugs unles you know them. Black hoodies and flat brim ball caps are a style of dress not a style of life. I work very hard to be a family man and upstanding member of the community. I would find it offensive if someone called me a thug. You know how bad those folks are that race for charity lol.

Doesn't look like no prep to me.....another problem with that whole deal......some of the no prep setups are far better than most small tracks.

I do really like the car though even though we will eternally disagree on the no prep deal
