Factory High Stall Converters

Once again, attitude doesn't win against the facts. The 1970 Swinger 340 with the A727 and the "high stall" converter was the cats azz in the the day. Ask the Chebbie guys with 290 HP 350's getting beat down by the Mopar 340 with 275 HP. The NHRA refactored the 340 to at least 310 HP with the automatic. Yeah, that was 51 years ago, but you can't change history. You can try to rewrite it, but the facts are available to anyone with a laptop top. Those were the facts in 1970, not 2021. I don't understand why you are so bullheaded, but so be it.

You can’t be serious? You think Stock Eliminator was using a factory converter in 1970? That’s just nonsense. The Chrysler book says they were using the J converter, the TA 3800 or the TA 4200. That was in Stock Eliminator. Get your facts straight. A square lobed Stock Eliminator cam and an OE converter wouldn’t have gotten off the trailer. Why are you so bullheaded?
