Easy Run Engine Test Stand

-
Front of motor all back together. Letting rtv cure overnight.

ok..it was the timing chain cover and not the head gasket...

Got it fired up and timing set.....ran for 20 minutes....going to check valve lash after it cools off....going to lunch or nap time...lol

had to buy some good gas for this thing....9 bucks a gallon...should have ran it on E85

uploading video......

Pulled a 750 DP E85 carb out of the closet.....got a can of E85 out of the trailer.....I had warmed the engine up with gas.....actually had gas in the e85 carb to begin with....
Ran just fine...Intake manifold really cool...adjusted the idle mixture screws ...3/4 turn on all 4 of them....this "charlie" distributor has 22 degrees of initial timing with 34 degrees at 3000 rpm....and has worked great....
my MP race electronic distributor have all 34 degrees in at 1000 rpm...should be able to get the idle down a couple hundred rpms....

Tomorrow I will put the inner valve springs back in....adjust valves again....run in...and back off rockers and wrap it in plastic...

Did the final run on this engine today...got the inner springs back on.....adjusted valves again....fired up on the e85 on it...
but this time I mounted a GM HEI module to the stand and wired in a MP Race Electronic Distributor....set it for 34 degrees..
need to back off rockers and wrap this for the winter....

video is uploading

Got the Eddy heads back this morning .....they machine shop said they could see daylight thru the valve seat...they fixed the 4 exhaust valves and vacuum checked all the other and said everything was good......$135 dollars...

They called last night and said the spring pressure was like 75 lbs on the seat...I said yeah...they are missing the inner springs....and they said oh that is right...LOL...I said thanks for checking;;;
