I will be doing some engine upgrades this winter one of which is an Edelbrock AirGap intake.
67 Barracuda, LA 340, Edelbrock 800 cfm carb, Edelbrock drop base 14 inch air cleaner.
Will it all fit under the factory hood without any modifications?
Thanks in advance
Jim K

dang, i seem to remember another thread about the same thing a couple months ago...see if i can find it...

I have a 71 340 duster with an airgap and basically the same setup. It fits but just barely

I have a RPM air gap on the 340 in my Duster (demon clone with Dart hood). I run a Holley 750 double pumper with a 1" carb spacer and a 13" Mopar Performance air cleaner lid using a drop base from a Ford racing air cleaner with a 2.3" tall air filter element. I even run a small spacer under the air cleaner to clear my throttle linkage at WOT. Mancini sells a drop base now for the mopar performance air cleaners, but that wasn't available when I did mine.

The Ford Racing air cleaner I stole the drop base from is advertised as a .625" drop.

And here's a few pictures of the set up in the car. Pardon my dirt.

I ran a 14" drop base air cleaner and a Holley strip Dominator, even with a Holley it fit. I saw the wing nut in my hood insulation.....65 A

I have a 69 340 Barracuda with an Air Gap and a 750 Eddy. It does fit. I did go with an aftermarket low rise air cleaner (an Eddy one with base, 3"Element and top). I was concerned about clearance, so I went with a 2.5" filter element.

Holley Strip Dom, with a 1" spacer ( since removed), 750 vac... plenty of clearance. Made a " cold air " unit ..
Design from FABO! (408demon, N-96, one of none) I hope I'm right on that. It's a 3 inch cake pan...does Not hit... only the open top element touches the hood skin...and that is getting " The Blade".. if you look at the frame, it actually Has, a radius ( kinda stamped, or Pushed in) looking indent.... like the engineer wanted room, for.... A big *** intake! I think You will have room! I couldn't get an offset center base, that was dropped. So it's a flat base, has 3" filter too

Ps, that hood was butchered ( holes in it) when I got it, if you look Close, the frame of the hood has factory round indents, left and right, of hacked holes
