Cut wires and missing part harness - nothing major though, phew

So, I have been tracing the wiring harness through my LP27 (GT conv) and upon removing the pocket panels behind (if they were present) the front seats I came across the pink and yellow wires to the pocket panel lights but they were cut on both sides. My question to the collective wisdom on this sub-forum would be, why this might be
The "courtesy" lights in the rear arm rest cover is what you are talking about right?

Why the wires were cut is a mystery, but if all the parts are there you can put it all back together.

Also, I am missing the trunk light/switch part harness as per attachment. Could this facility be an option for the vehicle (no indication on the fender tag of such) ? Just seems like an odd facility to remove. If I did have the trunk light/switch then where would the light and switch have been placed ? I have a left side deck lid rain channel lip with a hole in it (attached) which I assume would be the switch location so where would the bulb be located
The metal tab is there on all A bodies that had it as an option. My 67 Dart Convert did not have that option so no light or wiring. You could buy the parts and add it if you wanted to.

As for wires and colors, the car is 53 to 55 years old, things change color over time. Look at where the wire goes will tel you what it does.

At some point you will be looking under your dash and find a loose blue wire comming from the bulk head connector and connected to nothing. It is for the AC compressor and has no purpose unless you have AC

What year is your dart? Post some photos.

Did the car start off life in Australia?
