Fastest for a slant six would be unbolt it from the transmission. Disconnect the headers and any fuel and coolant lines. Take the bolts out of the motor mounts and pull it. Getting it out shouldn’t take you more than a couple hours at most.
I could have my engine and transmission sittin on the FLOOR before you ever got your engine out separating the engine from the transmission. I don't know why people even struggle with taking it off the transmission in the car.
