How to remove a slant six engine from car?

I use both bosses with about a 12" length of chain. It's at the perfect angle to pull the engine and transmission both.
Well, I just got back from the field as I pulled the motor out tonight. I got started late at 9 PM as I was half way across the state today picking up my dads Crossfire car from a guy who fixes them out in Somerset area of PA. Anyways, I got it out by myself in the middle of the field with no lights and using a flashlight in between my teeth I hooked up the chain down through a hole on the front mount and hooked the other end of chain on the bolt that goes into the trans right near the trans dust shield. I pulled it out and pushed the car back and I left the trans mount on it. Came out relatively easy. Motor stayed level when I got it out with trans attached. Is t he vin stamped on the motor of slant six and on the trans side also? Car is a 1969

Thanks to all,
