Did dodge release a 71 challenger T/a 440?

The hood replacement is a myth.

The shaker hood was re-introduced at the same time as the T/A hood availability in 1970.

The T/A hood was available as an option on non-T/A performance cars at that time and into the early part of the 1971 model year when it was cancelled.

A good friend and long time knowledgeable Mopar owner owned a 70 Challenger 440-6 that suffered that exact fate. The car was a local car he had known since new ( small town) .
He was the first to ever mention this myth to me back in the early 80s. Kevin has had no less than 4 Six Pac Challengers and Cudas ( 3 Purple , Tor Red ) . He actually lives just down the road from Jim Laroy now and still has his Plum 440-6 Shaker 70 Cuda.
Its possible he was wrong but this guy is pretty well informed on Mopars and not the type of guy to BS.
