It got cool and damp here in NC Georgia, I have pup outside in a dog house, he's pulled all the wheat straw out if the dog house and the two blankets also.
I go and get a bale of cedar chips to put in his abode, when i get home i throw it over the fence and was going through the house and come out and spread them, as a wlak past he chews through the plastic and takes a big bite outta the bale of chips, starts chewing them, kinda gets choked, I reach in and grab the bale.
Why would he do that, smell, unfamiliarity, can't be hunger, feed him like a horse.

Man, dogs are just droolin stupid.

What kind of dog and how old? He may just be bored. Some dogs get destructive if they don't get enough exercise or if their minds aren't stimulated enough throughout the day.

What breed? I suspect it's boredom. If I leave my Mals to their own devices, they will create their own 'fun', and it ain't pretty, lol.

My neighbors have an English bulldog. They constantly have trouble with her she roots around in the ground like a pig and tries to eat anything and everything. She is a real sweet-heart tho.

I haven't a clue as to breed or mix, his eyes have that Bloodhound red and he's about a hundred pounds, maybe some Mastiff in there? He and the other large male have gotten into it twice as you can see from the drain holes, so he is segregated from the others, i have two that can go on his side of the yard with no problems, he's good natured and i get compliments from the vet about how loving and gentle he is.

Such a devious look lol.... I suspect Boredom. If it gets cold enough he will get the message and figure it out on his own. That's my experience anyways....

Sometimes it's hard to remember that dogs lived millions of years without us babying them....lol. When the blizzard of 93 hit, I had an Akita that weighed 130 lbs. I was having to work because we had over 100,000 people without power, so my wife was home by herself. She got worried about Bo being out in his pen, with 3 feet of snow on the ground and the wind blowing 50 mph. She trudged thru the 3' deep snow for 150 feet, and put a blanket in his doghouse for him. She looked out later, and he had drug it out in the snow and was shaking it like a dish rag!

My golden retriever loves to pull tree branches out of the forest and chew on them. then he takes huge bites out of the grass yard and tries to eat the grubs just for fun!
